Terms of service
Welcome to Alter GM Furniture. These Terms of Service govern your use of our website and the purchase of any products from us. By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.
1. Company Information
This website is operated by Alter GM Furniture.
Business Address: Ainsdale Crescent, Nottingham NG8 6BW, United Kingdom
VAT Number: 160517529
Contact Email: alter.furniture@gmail.com
2. Product Descriptions & Variations
We take great care to ensure that all product descriptions, images, and prices are accurate. However, due to the nature of furniture manufacturing, please note the following:
Dimensions: All measurements provided are approximate. Upholstered furniture, such as our Kingston sofa models, may have a slight manufacturing tolerance of up to +/- 2 cm.
Colours and Materials: We make every effort to display product colours accurately. However, variations in screen settings and lighting can affect how colours appear. Furthermore, specialised materials, such as our Monolith fabrics, may exhibit slight shade variations depending on the batch or lighting in your room. This is entirely normal and does not constitute a defect.
3. Order Process & Contract Formation
When you place an order on our website, you will receive an automated email acknowledging your request. Please note that this email is an acknowledgement, not an acceptance of your order. A legally binding contract between you and Alter GM Furniture is only formed when we dispatch the goods to you or when we confirm that your item is ready for delivery. We reserve the right to decline any order for any reason, including pricing errors or stock unavailability.
4. Pricing & Payment
All prices displayed on our website are in Pound Sterling (£) and include VAT (where applicable) at the current UK rate.
We reserve the right to adjust prices, offers, and specifications of goods at any time before your order has been accepted.
Full payment must be cleared before the dispatch of any goods. We process payments securely via our nominated payment gateways.
5. Delivery & Access
Delivery times and conditions are outlined in our separate Shipping Policy.
Access Responsibility: It is entirely your responsibility to ensure that the furniture you order will fit into your property. Please measure all doorways, hallways, stairs, and tight corners before purchasing.
If a delivery fails because the item will not fit into your home, you will remain liable for the delivery charge and any subsequent return or collection fees.
6. Cancellations & Returns
Your rights to cancel an order and return items are fully detailed in our Refund & Returns Policy. Please be reminded that you have 14 days following the delivery of your goods to initiate a return. Items must be in their original condition, and goods that have been partially or fully assembled cannot be returned.
7. Faulty Goods & Your Consumer Rights
We are under a legal duty to supply products that conform to this contract and comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If you believe your item is faulty, damaged, or not as described upon arrival, you must report this to us within 24 hours of delivery. We will work with you to provide a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.
8. Limitation of Liability
Alter GM Furniture shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses arising from your purchase.
Delivery Damages: While our couriers take the utmost care, we are not liable for any accidental damage to your property (e.g., scuffed walls, scratched floors) that may occur during the delivery process. We recommend protecting your floors and clearing pathways prior to the courier's arrival.
Compensation: We do not offer financial compensation for delayed deliveries, as transit times are estimates provided by third-party logistics partners.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Service and any contract formed between us shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
